My first dive incident

Mum before you got all worried I'm perfectly fine now.

Today I for the first time had my own experience with a dive incident. I've had it before but then it's been my buddy and never ever for this reason.

Me and Liz, a fantastic calm and amazing dive instructor, went out on a last dive together. She leaves Monday and I Thursday.

Beginning of the dive I thought my air tasted a bit of exhaust fumes, but thought it was my imagination.
As we went deeper a started to feel a bit dizzy then my limbs got weak and finally my vision started to black out. I signalled to Liz and she gave me her alernate airsource just on time, blackened out for a few seconds. Then I breathed her air, we held hands and I managed to keep my panic in check so we could make a slow and safe ascent.
My first ever experience with bad air, dont want to experience that again. Thankful I had the perfect person with me when this happened.
After that I slept most of the day and saw the signs of carbon monoxide poisoning go away.
Now I'm all good but a bit tired, early night tonight.
The boss, unfortunately, havent even once asked if I'm ok.... and he still owes me salary for July and August even though I have reminded him. Boss of the year award to him, right?

Only 2 days til my dad and sister gets here, cant wait!!
And in 9 days I see my mum again, on her birthday!

Mum, I'm fine, see you soon

better late than never

First I was to busy with work here and then I went on a little holiday where I was to tired to do much.

My visa-run however was very very needed and relaxing. I went to Bali for a week where I just relaxed, ate nice food, had red wine and went out jogging several mornings.

I've resigned from my job here, it just wasn't the right place for me. To long hours, 7 days a week, no time for diving and strange atmosphere.
I did explain my decision to my manager and why I took it.
I have however met a lot of absolutely fantastic people here, gotten to challenge myself and also learn that I cant push myself to hard, that'd break me.
Now when I'm back will of course do my job the best I can without running myself to the ground, which I did before my visa-run.
When I were on Bali I really asked myself why I push myself until breaking point instead of taking a step back and let some things just run it's course. I have such a hard time letting go of control, and when things don't get done after I've asked, I do it myself instead of just letting it go.
Now when I'm back I've told myself not to let it go this far again, luckily I have friends here who will help me not taking to much on.

Tuesday I was back on Pom Pom again, it was nice to see the friends I've gotten here and now I can count down for my sister and dad to arrive August 17th. They leave on August 20th and I'm going with them back to Sweden.
Don't know what I'll be doing yet when it comes to earning a bit of money, what I do know is that I'm going back to Koh Tao early October, with a detour to Bangkok to see Rahul from New Heaven. After that I don't know, I'll probably have to do my dive master and then instructor course to give me a bit more options, where I have no idea yet.
I just so much look forward to going to my home away from home and the amazing people at New Heaven, I miss them more than I can describe. And before that I get to see my mum, hang loads with my sister, and mum and dad, see my closest friends and also do somebboring stuff like going to the dentist, the thai embassy etc.

Today I went diving with Liz and her two students doing their Advance course, it was fantastic. I'm going with them tomorrow again to take photos and post on our blog just like I did today.

more photos from one of my few dives-nudi's

these were taken at a dive site called Magic Rock.
I think I'm slowly slowly improving my photography skills, but it's still a long way to go.

sorry, long since last update

I've been so busy that I haven't had the time to update my own blog, so sorry about that. I've had to put my priority to updating TRACC's blog and managing camp.
I'm getting really worn and tired after working nonstop about 10-12 hours per day since early May.
I'm so looking forward to my visa run to Bali and the 5 star spa resort, I need that desperatly.
During my week there I will have a think about my future, the last weeks has been very hard on me for mostly two reasons.

Look forward to the next call from mum and dad so I can get their sensible feed back on the things troubling me.

I have manged to do a few dives and a few snorklings, one of those produced two blue ringed octopus, they are so cute, but don't disturb them only watch from a distance.
